Rey Fleury is Head of Healthcare Innovation at Idea Couture – an award winning global strategic innovation and experience design firm. He has global responsibility to develop the business and position the company for continued growth within the health & wellbeing sector. He is working with innovation strategists, medical doctors, user experience designers, patient strategy & patient engagement leaders, creative directors, brand directors and policy makers to help redesign health systems for better health, better care at lower costs.

 

Prior to this role, Rey served as Officer at the European Commission and collaborated with the Irish Ministry of Health in the definition and roll out of the 2012 eHealth week Ministerial Track. He heightened European Member States awareness of the role and potential of eHealth and create opportunities via the eHealth week for networking and exchange of experience between delegates and with eHealth industry.

 

Rey also served at the World Health Organization, General Electric Healthcare and the GSM Association where he got his hands on a spectrum of health challenges where he helped identify the unmet needs, spark options and concepts to move forward and support the validation and implementation of these solutions.

 

Rey. began his career as an Hardware Engineer with Intel Corporation, later moving into Business Administration and General Management responsibilities where Technology and Health collide. Rey. holds a Master of Science in Engineering, a Master of Business Administration (London Business School) and a Master in Public Health (Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health) concentrating both on international health and on health behavior & society.       

 

Rey. has co-authored publications on telemedicine and mobile health solutions and has presented in  workshops and conferences on various health innovation related topics.

 

SESSION: Global aging population: peril of end-of-life care crisis and promise of human centered re-design.

 

After defining the problem for USA and similar system, we will discuss example on how can we ‘survive’ our own mortality and overcome the “crisis” of end-of-life care. We will specifically review selected end-of-life care innovation and discuss how more empathetic practices serve to solve the concerns.
