MICHAEL

ROBBINS

Michael Robbins is the Global Head of the Clinical Business Process Management Team at Sanofi a major pharmaceutical company. Michael’s role is to enable the change to case-oriented BPM and Process Orchestration in the Sanofi Clinical Sciences and Operations Platform. Prior to joining Sanofi, Michael was a management consultant in the Technology and Healthcare Practice for the PA Consulting Group as well as holding numerous positions for Merck & Co.

Michael has significant experience in business architecture and process engineering, the software development life cycle, and solutions delivery of enterprise level healthcare and pharma informatics systems. Michael also has more than 15 years of experience in designing and developing complex automation and workflow systems for pharmaceutical companies in support of numerous research and development programs. In addition to a B.A. in synthetic and computational chemistry, he also has a M.S. in computer science, an M.B.A. in Technology Management, and holds numerous peer reviewed publications and patents in synthetic and analytical chemistry.

SESSION: The Reality of Bringing Change in Large Organizations via an "intra-preneurial" Approach

 

Bringing value add change in large organizations can be challenging but possible. In this presentation, we will share several case studies of using "intra-preneurship" and lean startup thinking to advance change in large organizations. Specifically we will share approaches to identify and develop customers, build and grow capabilities for those customers via a learning approach, and the grit needed to establish the long term viability of this newly developed internal business.
